please try the french geneanet (change at bottom left for french language)
and type carteret and detail "is sur tille"
you would find several persons
for instance
http://www.geneanet.org/fonds/individus ... year=&go=1
or better the following written by the lady Anne Seguin who was interested by protestant ancestors:
http://gw.geneanet.org/protestis?n=cart ... p=philippe
she may perhaps help you

thank you for your answer :-)
i'm already done that and maybe my question was wrong.
I'm searching for people of the Carteret family who are still living in Is-sur-Tille or around and are still alive ;-)
kind regards L.

It will be hard, if, as I guess they were protestant and surely most of them left, either to emigrate or to settle in bigger towns where they could hide..
Anyhow, I began to search:
1st quick look at the village death records of WWI that could give some indication if these names were still used in 1890/1914
http://memorialgenweb.org/memorial3/html/fr/resultetat.php?dpt=21&lettre=I
no such name
2nd look at the digitalized archives de Côte d'or (département where Is sur Tille is located), and for instance at some decennial tables for the 19th Century
http://www.archinoe.net/console/ir_ead_visu.php?PHPSID=6f6f8d2d87e9a5170cf9fc3d949a02a2&ir=17061#.WMp5l_nhCMo
for instance "tables décennales 1863-1872"
http://www.archinoe.net/console/ir_ead_visu_lien.php?m=&ir=17061&id=336158939
no such names either
So for me, they all moved from the village, and it is not specific to protestant or due to religious reason.
Indeed, I looked in several villages when I searched for several genealogy trees (my family or friends) : it is not unusual that the names, or the frequency of names are completely changed in in a period of 100/150 years time.
And you search is for 300 years ago...
Best regards
