i'm already done that and maybe my question was wrong.
I'm searching for people of the Carteret family who are still living in Is-sur-Tille or around and are still alive

Anyhow, I began to search:
1st quick look at the village death records of WWI that could give some indication if these names were still used in 1890/1914
no such name
2nd look at the digitalized archives de Côte d'or (département where Is sur Tille is located), and for instance at some decennial tables for the 19th Century
for instance "tables décennales 1863-1872"
no such names either
So for me, they all moved from the village, and it is not specific to protestant or due to religious reason.
Indeed, I looked in several villages when I searched for several genealogy trees (my family or friends) : it is not unusual that the names, or the frequency of names are completely changed in in a period of 100/150 years time.
And you search is for 300 years ago...
